How to Beat Spider Crab in How to Fish
Finish the sailor tutorial, bring a melee weapon for a safer solo attempt, use high ground to make the crab work around terrain and attack during its recovery window. Co-op can make a bare-hands approach more practical.
Prepare before spending another boss trigger
Complete the sailor's tutorial objective and earn enough money for a melee option. In PC Gamer's solo test, the knife provided a safer route than repeatedly using bare fists.
That is a tested recommendation, not an official damage table. A co-op group can create more openings and may not need the same purchase.
Use terrain and short attack windows
Stay patient, keep elevation or obstacles between you and the crab when it is active, then move in for a few hits while it is dizzy or recovering. Back away before the next attack rather than trading damage in open ground.
Carry the boss remains to the objective
After the fight, deliver the Spider Crab remains to the old fisherman. The tested route reports that this hand-in provides the boat keys and opens the next stage. Re-check the current objective if your build shows different wording.
